Handle is twist-lock
NOTE: the handle is of the "twist-lock" variety, so it stays where you put it and can be loosened to collapse or extend freely. From other comments it seems like folks have been confused about that and there's no mention of it in the packaging or on the product.Good value. Quality is good enough. Any net like this is going to be a bit delicate, you can't be swinging around a piece of cast iron to catch a moth, so don't sit on it :)Bigger than I thought. I use it to catch pantry moths, so a bit bigger than I strictly need but works great. The net is nice and deep so whatever you capture is less likely to escape once in the bottom of the net. Also the mesh is fine so captures even small moths, something that was a problem with the "child-sized" nets I tried first. Those were good enough for the job quality wise but pantry moths would just fly right out through the larger mesh.I would do it again, although for my personal purposes I'd probably look for something a little smaller.

Amazing Bug Net!
The media could not be loaded. I’m very pleased with the bug net!The net is amazing quality it’s durable and was able to catch cicadas and other big bugs. I like that you can expand and change the size of the net according to the distance of catching the bug.The nut is thick enough where it won’t puncture a hole easy to fold as well and the color is black like the picture.

Great value!
Sturdy, telescoping, cheap, since it telescopes its compact to store when not in use. I use this to catch carpenter bees (they eat / live in my fascia boards on porch) and it works amazing, they never see me coming!

Net could be larger for beginners
Telescoping works fine but can be wonky if screwed too tightly. The netting is fine but I do wish there was a larger hoop we could use to catch butterfly’s as the the opening is only about 12” around so you have to be really good to get a butterfly.

Quality Product That's Easy to Assemble and Use
This is a very nice little net. I wasn't expecting much when I placed the order but ended up extremely pleased by this thing. I quickly ordered it because I noticed several butterflies and dragonflies stuck inside my parents' screened-in pool at their home. I had already seen dead butterfly inside the enclosure, and with nothing better to do during my vacation, I figured I'd play the role as pacifist by catching and freeing these guys. The net wasn't difficult at all to assemble. The round ring of the net was obviously separated in equal parts, so fitting them took seconds. The polearm of the net is a simple twist to loosen, extend, and tighten. I'm no expert in net quality, but the netting material itself seemed very sturdy and well-attached to the ring.Within minutes of assembling, I was able to catch three butterflies and one dragonfly with ease! Due to the net being light, the 5-ish foot extendibility, and the net opening being amply wide, it didn't take long to get the insects into the net. The length of the net also made it simple to turn the it so as to close off their only exit.Overall, this is a quality little nifty net that served its purpose perfectly. I gave it to my parents in hopes that they, too, will continue catching and freeing these helpless creatures. I won't hold my breath though lol.

Happy I bought this.
The net came without instructions or documentation but it was obvious how to put it together. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the telescoping handle is of the twist lock type. It came in handy to catch flying insects that somehow found a way into my home this summer. May need to get another one or two.

Very large
It is very large. I wanted to used it indoors for the occasional bat but it was too big. The net was good but not for my needs. I returned it

Pesky hover flies demise
We have some pesky flies that are smaller than a common house fly, that hover between you and the TV and rarely land. In Utah I called them August flies, because that’s when I noticed an abundance. Later I began calling them “neener nonner” flies, because they seem to be mocking you. They are hard to get with a fly swatter. But this net has proved the answer. So far I’ve gotten 5 of the six attempts. You watch for them in an open area, not by that vase of flowers, then swing wildly in a figure eight manner for a few seconds, the grasp the midsection to trap the fly from escaping, and with the other hand squish the life out of it, and deposit in trash.I love this. So satisfying!
