I grew up hating ceiling fan/light combinations because I would never, ever, select the right pull cord- it was like a USB, doesn't matter if you put it in the right side up the first time, you're wrong and you'll only have it correct after you flip it around twice. It would cause so much anxiety when I pulled the wrong one and had to figure out if the fan was slowing down or speeding up, often with that heart-wrenching wobble like it was about to fly off the ceiling... Anyway, we moved into a house last year where we have one of these ceiling fan/light combos in the sunroom, and we absolutely needed the fan to move moisture/heat around so it wasn't going to be removed. So I had the bright (haha) idea of finding something so I could differentiate between the cords in a meaningful way- lo and behold, these things were exactly what I wanted. Subtle enough that they don't stand out if you're not looking for them, and simple enough of a design that they go with anything, while simultaneously being so bold as if they were smacking you over the head with their purpose. They are perfect for me... And I get a kick out of anyone noticing them for the first time as they reach for a pull cord.
