Die Design Fundamentals (Volume 1)

If you are looking to stamp sheet metal this seems to be a great book.I am about halfway through and enjoying reading it. I feel like I have a great concept of how my die will look and have started on a 3d model for it.It gives many calculations and standard value charts. For example, you can calculate the sheering force required for about 10 different metal types based on the perimeter of your cut and thickness of metal. This is useful when deciding to buy a press.

Great book ! Fundamentals is a perfect word to describe it, great tricks, and let's the reader REALY crawl inside the tool! Gives you all the bells, and whistles of the trade.

Very good book for a beginner in this field, It helps you to understand the main elements for making a forming die, But it is not enough for a professional to design one.

I have minimal machining experience, mostly self taught, and this book opens up the process of creating a die extremely well. I have only gotten through a few chapters but the illustrations are very good, the text is easy to follow and clear.Great book, from my admittedly novice point of view... but I have learned a lot.. and thats the point of this book.

A truly authoritative reference on die design in existence today. A detailed and technical yet easy to understand contents make this book a precious reference for every die designer and die makers. 'Chapter 5: Fourteen Steps To Design A Die' provides excellent yet fundamental details towards die design. There is definitely no regret from buying this book.

Our class never got to use this text because of software issues in the accompanying program. I read through it and it has some solid info.

Great praticality on fabrication.I read fabrication books all the time and this was a good suprise.Must read before any machinist hand.This book is the best.
