Produced from historical Soviet-period manuals, the book is a useful crystallization of late-Cold War training for reconnaissance soldiers of the Soviet Union. The book won't make you special... It is a wonderful compilation document and useful in the realm of military history and military science. I have seen original manuals from archives and can attest to the accuracy of the illustrations.

I found the quality of the manual lacking over-all. The pictures are crudely copied and in very low resolution. The placement of the translated text is done very poorly, the font size varies over the pages.Most importantly the very crude machine translation of russian to english has not been proof-read at all which means that a lot of the text is nonsense. I found the translation unreadable and simply not worth deciphering.
