Kodak Playfull videocam works fine!
Bought 2 Kodak Playfull Waterprrof cameras when it went on sale at $49.99 (with bundled free 4GB SS card) many months ago. Don't know why some reviewers said they did not receive the free 4GB SD memory card as mine was in the sealed plastic packaging.Tested it twice underwater (in and out of the pool, about two hours duration each time). Works perfectly, takes beautiful video and photo shots. Best part is water that is splashed on the lens does NOT stay on the lens, so the photos and videos remain clear always, without the water droplets. I did see the lens fogged up once, so I took it out of the water, 'aired' it until the lens cleared (you can use a hairdryer!) and it still works fine thereafter.Bought the other Kodak C123 underwater camera but water got in the lens, got fogged up and it stopped working. I managed to get it replaced for free (one year warranty) but had to pay for shipping. Tried the replaced camera together with this Playfull videocam, both works fine now but I prefer the videos on this....Just make sure the two compartments (SD card & USB port) are closed or 'clicked' tight before use. ........

good, I think
I got this for my 9yr old grand daughter, she loves it. Found it to be easy to use. I do wish we could plug it into an electrical plug to charge instead of the usb port, as I don't want it to just "hang" while it's charging, but we will have to buy a separate cord if we don't want to plug it in direct. No big deal, I just don't want the weight of the camera pulling on the little plug as it charges. One thing, none of us can figure out how to use the wrist strap for it, as we are not sure how to attach the camera to the strap, nothing seems to work. Surely, we will figure it out.One last issue, we cannot figure out how to increase the volume when taking videos. We went into settings, and put it up as far as possible, but we still can barely hear voices when we record and on playback, that is frustrating. I have called support a couple of times, wow, that's a process! I think it will be fine, once we get a little help with it. I think I will take it out to Walmart, to the photo center, those guys can probably help me with the issues.

WORST CAMERA AND CUSTOMER SERVICE...EVER!!
My daughter bought this camera in May 2012, we live in New York, therefore, it wasn't until the beginning of July, that she finally got to use it in our pool. It failed the first time she tried to use it, the unit filled up with water on its first trip into a 4 ft. deep pool. Called Kodak, they agreed to pay for return shipping and either repair or replace the camera. Two weeks later we received a "replacement" camera....problem: they sent us a REFURBISHED camera (and in a different color than my daughter originally purchased). We did not purchase a 'REFURBISHED' camera, we purchased a new one from Amazon, but Kodak thought it was acceptable to replace that brand new camera with a USED one. - STRIKE 1. SHOCKINGLY, the refurbished camera ALSO failed the "waterproof" test on the first try - STRIKE 2. To add insult to injury, through all of this back and forth nonsense, time is elapsing and so any chance of actually returning it for a refund is slipping away rapidly, Amazon won't take it back...because it was purchased in May...and did not actually get submerged in water until July. After the second "fail", I contacted Kodak again, using my previous case number. Incredibly, they only offer to 'repair or replace' the unit again AND now, they expected me to ship this one back at my own expense - STRIKE 3! After another 23 minute phone call to Kodak, they finally agreed to pay for the return postage. Now that it is mid-August and pool season will be over in about 3 weeks, the purchase of an "underwater" camera seems fairly useless at this point. By the time Kodak sends us another refurbished piece of junk, we will have spent $90 on a useless piece of trash that never actually served its intended purpose. Way to go Kodak! Not only do you build sub-standard cameras, your customer service actually surpasses the terrible quality of your products!I have contacted my credit card company now to dispute this charge and I am sending the camera BACK to Kodak...good riddance.I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER KODAK PRODUCT!!
