Nice SIze, Nice Sound, Nice Price!
I really like this Mic, didn't realise it was so small which was a really pleasant surprise. I did a quick record with it as soon as I got it and was quite pleased with the sound. Background noise pick up was quite low compared to a lav I used recently which came off a sennheiser wireless mic I borrowed, this one gave a nice cleaner sound.I recorded with Studio condenser mic and this one into a Zoom H4N. The low end on the studio mic was seriously pronounced, this mic however gave a more sibilant sound, with a nice natural vocal tone with no low end boom, this is obviously expected due to the size of the diaphragm in the two different mics, but this mic for the price is not bad at all!Update:I couldn't praise this mic enough! I just did a real world recording into my H4n with this mic at a taxi park in Lagos Nigeria at Marina, the busiest spot in the metropolis. This mic is very sensitive so you have to set your record levels very low. I used a windshield I bought from Amazon and the recording was quite impressive with minimal background noise in such a busy area, the vocals picked up quite nicely. This is a steal at $29!

Best for the money!
I read the reviews and also went to YouTube to learn more about this microphone. It was highly recommended and in a side-by-side test, I couldn't believe my ears. It outperformed the Sennheiser and other microphones up to nearly $150 among a grouping of five to seven other microphones. Wow.. I put it in my cart and held onto it for nearly 6 months until I had the funds to invest in new gear. I tested it shortly after it arrived, recording into a audio app on my Note 8 and it didn't disappoint! The sound is so clear and crisp! Perfect for my semi pro needs. One of the LAST true values out there for the money. May not outperform a $300 lapel mic or purpose built professional system but it will hold it's own against anything else.

Very good for the money
I bought this unit as a back up for the lavalier that came with my Sennheiser ew100 g3 when I fond out the replacement is $150 dollars. With that said this mic works very well. The same quality is not the same as the original but with a small adjustment in the sensitivity of the body pack it pick up my voice from the same distance with no problem. It is extremely small and neat which is a plus. The clip that holds it is a little flimsy but manageable. Only one real problem for me. There is a noticeable increase in the echo if you are recording but with an adjustment to the reverb it's okay, not great but okay. Maybe someone better skilled with a mixer can get it just right.Overall if you need a inexpensive lavalier microphone this is a good choice. I use mine for preaching at a small church that records the sermons and it's working for us.

The good and bad
I've used this mic on several movie shoots. it's size was what drew me to it. but it does have some setbacks. The Good: The size, sound and priceThe Bad: The Size - if you lose one of the clips that come with it, good luck with a standard clip. They are too big, and the company doesn't seem to be able to sell them separately. I've had to roll them in electrical tape to get them thick enough to be used in a typical clip. The sound - The actual sound sounds great. the problem is, that the wire is noisy as hell. you can run your hand along the wire and it just produces noise. If you pin the lav on something to minimize movement (like a mini wireless boom) they work fine.other lav accessories you may have do not fit. This has potential, but a couple things need to change.

Works Great, Sounds Great - Requires Power in Certain Situations
Got this for my Panasonic GH4, and was hoping to use it with my multi-channel recording interface as well. Works great, however, my downfall is that I'm tech-savvy, my use case was extraordinary, and I did not realize how these lapel mics work. The Mic-J 044, as with other lavalier mics, are condenser microphones which require power to operate. External recorders such as the Zoom H1 and others, DSLR cameras, wireless belt packs, even computer sound cards, provide what is known as "Plug-in-power" with anywhere from 3-5 volts to power the mic. This is much different than the 48-volt phantom power you would see on an XLR-based mixer (don't try to use it, as it will likely destroy the mic). If you want to use an entry level lav like this in anything that doesn't supply "plug-in-power", you will need to get (or build) a battery power supply, not just a simple adapter from 1/8" to XLR. (There are several out there, even here on Amazon, for around $15). Also, note that the Sennheiser locking 1/8" TRS connector is not balanced. It is wired as a mono (T is + and R&S are -).In any event, I'm looking forward to getting lots of great use out of the two JK Mic-J 044's I purchased, and pleased with their performance.

Value for money
Value for money. Is in regular use and works well. In fact I have found it works better than ME-2 lav mics in some cases.

Great mic for pro use at budget price
I was really surprised at the sound quality from this inexpensive mic and lack of hiss. It is abut 6db more sensitive then the official Sennheiser lapel mic giving a stronger signal and only slightly more noise. The clean bass and nice treble produce really good natural sounding audio for speech. Can be used professionally for interviews and is not over sensitive to breath or handling/clothing noise if mounted properly. I'll be buying another one ! The cable is very thin though - with the advantage that it is easy to thread through clothing - but it remains to be seen how durable it will be. The mic is well made, plastic with metal grille and is VERY small compared with the Sennheiser. - I had the version with the Sennheisser locking plug.
