Get warm and save
Bought this for my 2001 Discovery 2 - Works just fine and saves you about $200 over the "Land Rover Genuine Parts" version and i'm sure that this is the exact same part and mfg.

Leaks
Leaks on 1985 Ford tractor, model 1910.I never claimed to be an expert at anything, but Ive installed block heaters several times without issue. O ring was not thick enough, so I used water pump gasket sealant, still leaks. Hard to say if its a poor fit, or poor product. Either way, if youre purchasing for ford tractor, expect a leak, even with proper preparation. Now that it’s covered in gasket material, I can’t return it, or use my tractor. But that’s typical Amazon. Stand by what you sell.Only reason for two stars is because it definitely gets hot.

Great block heater for the price!
I installed this unit on a 2002 Silverado with the 4.8L V8 Vortec gas engine and i have to say it really does make a difference in starting when it’s cold out. I live in the Midwest and last winter we had some single digit days with -25+ windchills and the truck seemed to definitely turn over quicker. I know for a fact helps keep the wear down on the engine with the warmer oil and block. The heater is probably as powerful as it can get for a small block like that but it would be nice to have it a little more powerful heat wise but it does get really hot! Don’t ask me how I know😂. Really good buy I don’t regret it!

Installed in a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4.0 engine
In Alaska. My previous same brand Block heater shorted out after 18 years use and 110,000 miles on the vehicle. I removed the old one very, very easily, which surprised me, and quickly installed the replacement. Torquing it properly with no leaks afterward. However. the previous plug in cord to the heater itself pointed down and away from the exhaust header. The replacement cord once plugged into the heater pointed upwards, and NO I did not install the heater upside down, it was pointed to the 6:00 position as per the application, and the direction of the old heater . It WAS the cord plug in at the block heater direction. So, I just opted to reuse the cord already in place and kept the other cord as a backup. I could have used the new cord, but there would have been a semi-sharp bend in the cord to point it forward and away from the exhaust manifold, which would have worked, it was just my personal choice. It has been a week of using the vehicle after the new heater installation and No Leaks. Ex-Jet engine mechanic.

Avoid
Dead out of the box, for both of the ones I purchased. QC is complete trash. Don't waste your money.
