How many pounds (example of pet food) would each bin hold ?

This is a good question, but very hard to answer. It depends upon the size and shape of the food you are putting in the bin. It might hold 30 lbs of chicken feed, but only 10 lbs of bulky dog food.

What are the dimensions of the base and does the length only extend forward? I'm looking to put these in 13x13x13 cubbies and still have access.

Each bin has a Base of 10-1/2" X 9", height 11-1/2". The front will stick out from your cubby by about 7", so I it should work the way you want.
