Wilton Skull Cake Pan with Flutes

Ive been eyeing similar pans, but smaller skulls for a while. So when the opportunity arose and I saw this pan I made the purchase.This pan is much larger than I expected and because of that it also brings some difficulties. The final project is about the size of a child size skull, and there is enough detail with the nose and teeth that you will want to make sure this pan is well greased and floured. Each well will take approx one box (equivalent) of cake mix. Sp if making one from scratch that into consideration. Baking time and cooling time may need to be extended due to the darkness of the pan, the depth and amount of mix being held. Additional challenges will include cake assembly. After one failed attempted, my second attempt turned out better however I gave up on trying to get the front and back halves together. I suggest watching videos on YouTube to manage this.The pan itself is great, a heavy; solid metal. The small handles on the side work for holding without pain and have an extra skull detail. The pan itself has a foot on the skull which stabilizes it on a flat surface however I suggest baking on a sheet rack. 1) to have a flat surface and 2) catch drippings. Both coworkers and friends were a fan of the final product.

These are sturdy and perfect for fall. Used 3 times and cakes were perfect each time. Make sure to grease the pan so it comes out easily!

I used this pan with boxed cake mix and it worked wonderfully. As long as you properly grease the entire pan you’re good to go. You may not need to use the entire amount of batter from a box mix because then it will bake over the edges. Fill 2/3 of the way and bake following instruction for a 9x13 pan give or take 5 or so minutes. Just watch your cake as it bakes and you can gauge approximately when it’s done too.

It’s a pan…what I can say. It’s sturdy and non-stick and fits the same amount of batter as a standard round or square cake pan.

Can't wait to use this pan for Halloween.

My older niece is so talented. She’s worked several store bakeries and over the years has built a pretty good resume’. The cake pan has clean lines, but it’s not as sturdy as I’d hoped for. The important part is that she loves it and will be using it for entertaining soon.

Jajajaja bueno le gustó la tarta a la del cumpleaños así que contenta hay que tener cuidado cuando lo desmolda pero en general cumple con su función.
