Amazing, finally got my sound sorted out. HDMI out to AV Amp there is then no audio output for record, I have had to use zone 2 pre amp out, but this was attenuated by master volume a bloody nuisance. So now a USB to Optical for Minidisc and analogue out for tape deck, usually with these devices have very low output, but this one is very high, recommend it to anyone who need very high standard of audio for record or playback. Sound quality is exceptional. Nice piece of kit

So Many Outputs
I liked my Aimpire AD10, very good quality sound, but having to change settings and having to use a second USB out to get quality headphone output was a hassle.This was half the price and fed power amp, sound bar and headphones perfectly well, without having to change any settings, just turning each amp on, or putting the headphones on.If there is a difference in sound quality between the two I don't think my ageing ears can perceive it, and anyway, the jack out is definitely better than the additional plug in usb dac I've previously used for my headphones, and totally free from the spluttering interference on my direct headphone jack out from my computer.Before you buy one of the alternatives, think whether that additional jack out is what you need.

Works well with windows 7
Nice unit. Comes with lead laptop recognised the Dac and its was up and running quickly.Sound quality is good. Plenty of stereo detail. Smooth sound.

Improved sound quality
Improves sound quality from a Macbook Air into a mixer desk. Rather than taking the music from the headphone socket just connect this to a USB port (wait till the Macbook realises you've done this - takes a couple of minutes) then select output sound via USB in settings and connect to the sound mixer (or whatever you need) and voila - it works!!

Would NOT work with Raspberry Pi which worked perfectly well feeding Mutec MC3+usb.AVOID
