Perfect look for my personal switch console. I got inspiration to black out my switch and it turned out great. You have to watch a tutorial on how to do the shell swap but it is honestly worth the time. It took me a hour and a half to complete it.

While It may seem like an arduous task to disassemble your switch lite completely, with the right tools which were included with the product, and a YouTube tutorial, it took around 1-2 hours to complete. While you shouldn’t rush the process the switch lite is not a complex. If you have built a 18+ LEGO set and or model gundam I guarantee you those are much more complex than a few screws and ribbon cablesTwo things to note I purchased a separate buttons from the same vendor and I also purchased Hall effect Joysticks instead of the stock OEMs.Another thing to consider to buy or have in hand before you start is, thermal Paste for the heat sink, and a heat gun (I’m sure a hair dryer or similar would work) for the LCD screen.I was worried about removing the battery but it doesn’t need to leave its socket unless you wanted to upgrade the Battery on the switch lite as well.I watched “Make Stuff Do More” channel on YouTube it’s a 40ish minute video and just followed step by step. For me it’s the most detailed and comprehensive Tutorial on YouTube and recommend it if you think you will have trouble. Great product and satisfied with the results.

Ok, so this case is EPIC!The case is a soft plastic feel. It feels great to hold for long periods of time and completely blows the original Nintendo plastic shell out of the water. At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the white-on-black with the case and buttons but I can honestly say now that I dig it. The case fit really well and I only had one issue with the installation which I'll talk about in a second. The screen protector that comes with the shell is super thick and definitely protects the screen from scratches and cracks. The shell itself is also really strong and well made so I have no worries about just throwing it in my bag. No scratches as of yet.Ok so now onto the cons. So my first con is kind of a minor one but may be important to some of you. This thing is a fingerprint magnet! No matter how hard you try you WILL leave fingerprints all over this thing. My hands are fairly clean, oil free and I don't use lotions, yet there are fingerprints on this case the moment I touch it.The second con is the installation process. What I didn't realize right off the bat was that you literally have to take your ENTIRE switch apart to put on this new shell. I thought the internals of the switch would transfer altogether and just require a few screws; boy was I wrong. The installation process is complicated if you have never done something like this before.During the installation process, I also had serious issues getting the R, L, ZR, and ZL buttons in. My ZL button still doesn't work properly either. I was going to return but I missed my return window by a couple of days so I was SOL. This could have been a user error but honestly, the video wasn't very clear and it seemed like the bumper button mounting plate (flat plastic bit - not sure the name) was incorrectly sized and damaged my actual button. So I lost a ZL button but I really liked the rest of the case and I didn't have problems with any of the rest of the install.So I give this 7/10

I've had my SLite since launch and I didn't care for the colors they had then. But, grey was ok, but I finally got up the nerve to do something about it, and I've now got a FULL BLACK model including the buttons and even the screens border thanks to all the parts from ExtremeRate. It's not flashy and color randomized like so many others that've been done, and it looks amazing because of that!Install wasn't as bad as I feared. I followed a tutorial on YouTube after trying a handful of them. The most important things are to keep the screws etc organized, and to take your time. It took me roughly two hours.ExtremeRate's products are coated with a kind of paint that somehow feels "soft" and that's great, but they can be a bit "slick" along with the "soft." Because of that I'm using a grip/cover. But it's a Mumba Blade and black to match and the back is clear.As per the usual, the included tools are subpar, but if it's all you've got then they'll do.

Bought replacement shell as well as buttons.Have had some experience taking apart a 3DS several times to fix broken parts, but I wouldn’t call myself an expert.There’s a great YouTube video online posted by the seller. I would recommend watching it 2 times before turning the screws to your switch. Then as you are taking it apart i would follow along with the video. This is what I did. All in all it took me 2.5-3 hours. Be careful to account for screws and ribbon cables (make sure you don’t put the motherboard on top of the ribbon cables) and be organized.The product feels great in your hands. Similar to Nintendo’s stock feel, but actually more comfortable. Everything lines up and fits great. Toward the end I felt something wasn’t completely flush, but once I screwed it all in it fit perfectly.Plus it looks awesome.I would recommend it to anyone who feels confident after watching the video. Just relax, you can do it. It’s worth it!
