THis is for my sister in a nursing home. Is the memory foam as good as beanbag filler to position the tray straight?

I prefer the “beanbag” type filler, but I guess it would depend how one plans to use it. I use one (a different one I’ve used for years—looking for a new one now) while sitting in my Lay-z-Boy chair (upright, not reclined back) and put a pillow underneath to get it to the proper ergonomic height for me. For someone in a nursing home however, they might looking to use it while sitting up in bed. I would think that in such a situation, it might work best sitting on top of the bed tray (most are height adjustable), and placing this on the tray, in which case a memory foam filler would probably work best. You could place something under it if needed (I was going to suggest a phone book—but good luck finding one of those these days—ha, ha! though I have use an unopened pack of printer paper for the same purpose) to get it to the most comfortable height, and the memory foam would be your best bet for this to maintain that height and position. A bead-filled one would be constantly shifting when ever pressure is applied, and I imagine it would need repeated “adjustments”. Hope you find one that works well for your sister.
