Product Design and Development 6th Edition

Arrived on time and in good condition. I needed this for two semesters and it was a great value over renting the book. Another addition for my "library".

I've used this book for 3 courses, Product Design 1,2,&3. It helps as a handy reference when the professor gets his ppts from some online source, reads extremely fast off it word for word, and occasionally skips slides. By the way, there's a free online pdf for this book if you search hard enough. Accidentally purchased it from amazon then immediately returned it.

Good book that has alot of systematic ways of doing design.

This is a comprehensive text supporting product development and design. I have used it since the first edition came out and have happily updated as new editions arrived. It has supported academic studies in product development, engineering and design at my University throughout the last twenty years.

There are no substitutes for this one. Has the latest case studies. A reference to be kept for long time.

Come on guys, the book is okay but it is missing very very important details.When making a product, you need certian certifications to be able to sell. At no point does it mention that electronics need FCC and CE compliance before they are allowed on the market. (That is why companies like Dell almost went under when starting up). If you design a product and dump it on the matket without FCC, you can get hit with serious fines people!! How can you leave that out of the book? It is extermly critical to product design. It mentions nothing about the best way to design the product so they actually pass these test. Nothing about Global Certifications, such as CE, RoHS for the EU market. Nothing about UL, ETL, MET, ect.The book is worthless if it leaves out very important steps that need to be considered during the design.
