We ordered this product and the diagram advertised shows 240mm for the lock mechanism but we received 175mm. If I order again will I received 240mm?

From my experience, this is a 175 mm lock and not 240 mm. When I received the package, there was a number for a company to call, and they installed the 175 mm in my door, even though the previous lock was 240 mm. It might not be ideal, but both my doors are working perfectly and this lock has been a life changer in its simplicity.

Door always unlocked both handles open the door no matter if it’s locked !

Battery life seems very short as compared to my existing lock. can i connect this to external power (like ac-dc adapter)?

This is battery-operated and you cant connect it directly (unless you want to jerry-rig it, which I wouldn't recommend). I have been using the locks for the past 8 months and the battery is still around 60%. I would recommend you get rechargeable batteries if this is an issue you are facing.
