Ok so I purchased this table because I was replacing a 20 year old square table and I wanted the same size table, options are limited on square tables at standard height these day. This table is nice but not nearly as sturdy as my old one which was a cheap one at the time as well. The chairs have no rungs between the legs which just makes them feel as if they aren’t as sturdy, one chair legs has some how splintered at the very bottom so I am already going to have to buy a replacement. The table top where it comes together has rather large gaps which is annoying to look at as you can see through them and yes I locked it together underneath so that’s not the problem. The wood also dents very easily just pushing in the chair to the table dents the chair. So all in all it’s okay could be a lot nicer and if it wasn’t such a large item I would have sent it back just on the gapping in the table top alone, and now the splintering of the chair leg has me thinking this table isn’t going to last nearly as long as the one that lived through my kids growing up.

My older family members do not find the hard wood comfortable and require seat cushions. I personally love it!

The wood is excellent and no doubt that it is solid. I had Amazon put it together so I just needed to enjoy it!
