First RC heli
I purchased this as my first hobby grade RC helicopter. Without starting on a simulator first (I know, I know...) I was able to successfully take off and hover my first time out! I keep the gain low so that it's not as responsive, but if you check out some online videos out there, a skilled pilot can do amazing maneuvers with these. Even better, it has survived several (fairly mild and low height) crashes. The fuselage plastic absolutely feels like it's made from recycled Yoplait yogurt cartons, but it's never broken or split on me. However the big downside of the design is that it's tough to remove it, which is a bummer. Fortunately it is durable, and pretty much zero maintenance, so you shouldn't be having to to take it apart much. I find that flight times with a standard battery are around 7.5 minutes. I've never overheated the motor, I can keep flying it pack after pack in sequence. The LED's in the body and tail help with maintaining orientation, however due to the small size, it's still hard to see at any distance. You will lose sight of this long before you run ouf radio range. It also is very sensitive to wind, in particular up/down drafts- again not through any fault of the design, jsut since it's so small. Still, I find that this is a good cheap thrill- I got mine on sale for $130, and these do go on sale quarterly it seems.

excellent helicopter
Great for beginners to intermediate. This thing can take a beating and go right back to perfect flight. No need to adjust pitch before flight, when you turn it on you leave on a flat surface and it auto adjusts. Super simple and easy to use and fly. Only downfall is the battery is super small and only lasts roughly 5-7 minutes yet takes quite a LOOONG time to charge. I highly recommend a second or third battery. The other upside to the battery is the charger is a USB charger, so you can bring a battery backup to a park and charge it on that, no need to buy those pesky and hard to find 12v batteries.

Should be pulled off the market. Wires melted
First flight was ok. Second flight I was fighting a lot of wind, (2-3mph). Any other Heli or plane that would be fine. Not this. It’s so small. While trying to fly it back to me, I noticed what looked to be smoke. Sure enough, the tail rotor quit, it crashed landed and the wires going to the tail rotor motor had melted. Enough so it melted the ever so thin body of the Heli.

Not exactly for beginners
The media could not be loaded. The video attached to this review shows my very first flight on my first day of owning the Blade 150 FX. I couldn't wait to fly it, so I didn't wait for a calm day. As you'll see, the wind made it hard to fly this thing smoothly, and the confines of my back yard were too narrow. What you want if you're going to enjoy the Blade 150 FX is a windless day in a wide-open space.E-Flite has styled and marketed this product as if it's a modern-day, single-rotor incarnation of their classic Blade CX2, but it really isn't.First, the 150 is smaller and lighter than the CX2, so it's really not suited to windy day operation.Secondly, this heli is way, way, way more high-strung and responsive than the CX2. That's great if what you're looking for is a fast, responsive helicopter, but if you're a beginner, you're going to have to really learn the lesson that when it comes to control inputs, less is more.Watch my video, and you'll see on several occasions, when I reduced throttle to avoid going too high and getting carried off by the wind, that translated into a much more rapid descent than I'd intended.I'm not complaining, though. Like all E-Flite products, this is a sold, well thought out package, and I am eager to fly it in a park on a day with no wind. I'm sure under those circumstances the Blade 150 FX will make me look like a much more skilled pilot than the attached video does.

Really fun to fly
I don't fly this helicopter indoors, as it's a bit aggressive for my little house. I'm sure you could, but there are other models more suited to indoor flight. Outside, it's a blast. It is easy to fly, very stable, and can handle 5 mph or more of wind easily. On high rates, this little thing can go from almost out of sight one direction to almost out of sight the opposite direction in a matter of seconds. It's much faster than I expected. Super fun!

Not good, it went rogue on me
During the second flight, I lost radio contact and crashed causing significant damage. Was returned without a hassle. I won’t buy again. 1 star
