Easier to start than expected!
This is my first time growing ranunculus and I was a little nervous because it seemed involved to start the corms. It wound up being super easy, mine a growing very well and I only had 1 that didn't root.

Be careful what time of the year you order these.
Dispute following all the correct instructions they did not grow. Nothing. Nada. Zip....nothing.Very disappointed.Be cautious when you buy these in the season. By the time I got them in my greenhouse and planted the return window had already passed. Now I am out the time and money I put into them.

Corms Arrived in Good Condition
The media could not be loaded. The corms ranged in size from small to large. Thanks for the 7 extra corms.

Waste of Money
Never got so much as a leaf, let alone a flower. Absolutely NOTHING came up. Waste of money.

Third time is not a charm
Third time trying - it’s definitely not user error at this point - it’s just not a quality product .

Are they peonies or are they ranunculi?
Because of the name and description of the Purple Aviv Peony Ranunculus it is unclear if these are peonies or ranunculi. They are distinctly different plants. After some research, I believe these are ranunculi which have more the characteristics of peonies.Unfortunately, there are minimal planting instructions on either the package or the Amazon product information. For maximum success, specific sprouting of the corms is important, including pre-soaking the corms in water for several hours prior to planting. Detailed information can be found by doing an online search.Out of the 13 corms I received, I suspect 3 or 4 have questionable viability based on their appearance. (see photos). Because of a couple of unexpected cold snaps here in Central Florida they are taking longer to sprout than the two weeks I anticipated. I will update this review if the production rate is not satisfactory after another couple of weeks.

Bulbs Arrived in Decent Shape
This 12 pack of Aviv Ranunculus bulbs arrived in decent shape for planting. Some of the "fingers" had come off, but my package came with 14 bulbs. I have planted them and will update my review once they sprout, then bloom. I was tempted to take off a star because the product is very lacking in printed information on the label - other than planting at 2" deep ad 2-4" apart. I would like the nursery to include more information on their label. Plant zone information and sun requirements would be helpful. I am zone 10b. Ranunculus are good for planting in the fall in my zone, so I think I will still be good in mid-January. They will just flower later then if I would have planted in fall. They like sun and well-drained soil. I would google your zone, planting time and plant information. Some will have to dig up before winter. I am looking forward to them blooming. I do like that they are non-GMO and a California nursery. It has been just over a month and 10 plants have emerged. Some critter has also been digging for grubs, so I am happy with 10! Will update with photo when they flower.
