Would these speakers work as a desktop replacement with amp such as the elegiant 200w 12v mini hi-fi amplifier ?

These are pretty good satellite speakers. Don't expect any low frequency output. You may want to add a subwoofer for full range sound. Otherwise they sound pretty good.

These units sound great but I'd like then to be all white. How can I change the color of the front cover to white instead of grey?

Will it work as upfiring atmos/dts:x speakers ?

I suppose they might if you can mount them in a way that angles them toward the ceiling. However they weren’t designed for that purpose and they aren’t particularly “beamy” which is what you’d want from an upfiring speaker. All that being said though, these are fantastic speakers when paired with a capable sub.
