Purchased for its renowned anti-mosquito effects, and although I haven’t used it yet for that purpose, it smells lovely and sinks in well with no greasy residue.

Great product, my skin is moisturised and it smells very nice!

I have using this for some years to help as a mosquito deterrent so it's a bonus that it makes your skin soft too.

Was told to purchase this item as apparently it is really good to cover your skin to stop mosquitoes biting. So far so good, but time will tell....

I bought this, due to great reviews - that is an effective alternative to insect repellent - I bought 3 bottles - to try on myself, and also on my horse. I tried it two days ago on myself, and was in the back garden doing some gardening, wearing long trousers - I had put the Avon Skin So Soft on before getting dressed...I felt a sharp sting on my leg, looked down, and a horse fly was sitting on my knee and had bitten me, minutes later, another one took a chunk out of my bare arm (I had really slathered myself in the stuff). I was a bit disappointed, especially since the one on my leg had bitten me through long trousers (albeit thin) and thought, "maybe I didn't apply enough?" It did work against midges and mosquitos though. I thought, the true test will be to put it on my horse later that day. Well, I smothered him in, sprayed it everywhere, put an extra dose on his face and ears, made sure he was completely covered. Went out for a ride, in the bright sun...again, no mosquitos and midges came near, but the horse flies were completely unaffected - and kept landing on him and biting him, also on his face where I'd taken great care to cover every centimeter.If your only insect problem is mosquitos and midges, then this probably would be fine for you. If however, you have horse flies in your area, or you want to deter horse flies away from your horse, I would stick to dedicated insect repellents, because this just won't protect you against all stinging insects. For people, I find Autan is the best. For horses, I have found Tri-Tec and Power Phaser to be unbeatable in the battle against the bugs....Tri-Tec is the only one that works against crab flies if you live in the New Forest, Hampshire, UK (tried by me and tested - it's a winner).
