Has helped or £2000+ per annum cat
Our cat has had chronic kidney failure diagnosed for 5+ years. We have been using this item sparingly for our cat for over 5 years now in combination with a diet comprising high quality fresh and manufactured cat food, supplemented with specialist renal food. Like many cats, our cat will tolerate renal foods to a degree, but rapidly loses interest, but more importantly she loses weight; it is very important for cats to retain their weight when suffering from renal disease. Our vet recommended that we didn't use this product for prolonged periods and whilst I respect his professional opinion, faced with the challenge of feeding a cat solely renal food, which she barely tolerated, or allowing her to enjoy her life, we relented and use this product on a daily basis. When she eats solely renal food, we do notice that she urinates into her box much less, however, when faced with a cat who has a full bowl of expensive renal food untouched who is howling to be fed, we feel that we have achieved a compromise with her and she is fed traditional food twice a day, with half of her daily allowance of Ipakitine sprinkled over each meal, with top ups during the day of good quality renal food in small amounts (1 to 2 sachets a day). It seems to work and she has reached the age of 16 years, at least 5 years of which she has been treated for renal disease and associated hypertension. It certainly isn't a cheap option to supplement her food with this product, which she has no problem eating just sprinkled on top of her normal meals. How well it works for each individual cat I have no idea, however, when first diagnosed, our vet thought that she might last for two or three years as her condition was quite advanced when diagnosed and five or more years later.........UpdateMake that 8 years"……Grace at almost 18 years old is still going strong.

Palatable
I have an extremely fussy dog (with kidney failure) and the vet recommended we add this to her food as she is unable to switch to a special kidney diet (very long story...). I was somewhat worried as she is a tricky customer with food but I do think this doesn't taste of anything as she has not rejected it at all. Whether or not it helps with the kidney failure, I suppose time will tell. I searched other options for buying the product and Amazon seemed reasonably priced when considering other sources charged for postage separately.

Good value
The vet charges this for half the amount. I do find it a little dusty though, a small gripe though.

As recommended by the vet
I bought this product as recommended by the vet for my dogs kidneys. I have been using this now for 18 months along with her other medication and it’s stabilised her kidney function. I just sprinkle a scoop onto her food twice a day and she eats her food fine.

It doesn't change the taste of the food!
I honestly thought this would be another product to make my ailing 17 year old cat walk away from her food but she actually loves it! She won't eat any of the renal diet foods, hates them all so at least this way she's getting some help for her kidney disease and some pleasure too! However dosage instruction a little confusing so followed Vet's advice on that. Needs to be clearer, it's important!!!!!!

Great for CKD
Using this as a binder for my dog instead of Pronefra as that is way too fatty.Easily mixes into food and he hasn't detected it is there.

An important additive for chronic kidney diseases in pets
I bought this to improve the kidney function of my pet cat. I’ve read that a phosphate inhibitor is an important additive to put into their food to reduce kidney stress. I was very happy to find this product, at a very reasonable price. The transaction was easy and fast, and I’ll be ordering again.
