Q: is this comfortable to sleep with?

I did not find it comfortable to sleep in. It depends on your pillow style and your sleeping style.

Q: What is the smallest circumference (around the throat) that the Futuro Adjustable Cervical Collar can be adjusted to?

The smallest "internal" circumference that this collar can be adjusted to is ~14 -14 1/2". Any smaller and you won't have enough Velcro showing to secure the collar in place.As I indicated in my Review awhile back, I found this to be a good "fitting collar" to determine which fixed size collar is best for an individual. That said, the adjustable part of the collar is in the front-- a 3" wide portion only, in the chin area. The rest of the collar is NOT adjustable. The adjustable chin segment is 3 1/4" tall without tightening the Velcro strap. When you snug the Velcro, you can mush that segment down to about 2 1/2". At that point, the collar looks like a bowtie. The main part of the collar measures 3 3/4" in height, or call it a "nominal 4" Once you wear it a couple of times, though, it's more like 3 1/2". At the very rear of the collar, where you fasten the Velcro to wear it, the collar is 2 1/2" in height. As I also pointed out in my Review, the packaging (see one of the pix on left of Amazon screen) states that the collar goes from 2.5 - 5.0" That is incorrect, totally. The chin segment goes from 2 1/2 - 3 1/4" and the rest is fixed at 3 3/4", call it 4", but certainly not 5".

Q: Can someone tell me the height of the center underneath the chin without the chin strap being tightened and also the height of the sides? Thanks.

Height under chin without being tightened 3-1/4 inches (tightened 2-3/4). Height in front 4-inches. Height in back 3-inches. Height on sides tapers from 4- to 3-1/2 to 3-inches in the back..

Q: The description says this collar is breathable. Have you found it to be any cooler than others?

It is warm, but I find it slightly cooler than some other collars I tried. For me, I believe the adjustable area under the chin allows it to be slightly less restricting and therefore not as smothering. The cover is a lose weave, which may be more breathable than certain other covers. It reminds me of the soft fabric used under a surgical boot. I am not sure to what they refer when they say it is breathable, though.

I really helps!

Prominent Adam's Apple may hurt.

It's well made and appears durable. The jaw, back of neck and cx spine per se were comfortable, I could sleep in it, and it did help my positional apnea. But if you have a prominent Thyroid Cartilage (Adam's Apple), the adjustable section in the front presses down on it when supine (sleeping), after a few nights of use I had to stop b/c it started to hurt to palpation. Flat Adam's Apple, should be fine.

Sleazy company

This product is horrible. Product arrived with the box crushed and unsealed. Did not like the fit of this product. Started the return process, but product stated un returnable. When I purchased the item, it said that the item was returnable. Cannot stress enough this product is garbage do not buy from a company that will not refund after a purchase if you are not satisfied. Disregard the good reviews and don’t let a company get away with not being able to return if you are unsatisfied. There are plenty of products out there that are returnable

Great for sleeping

I use this every night for sleeping, comfortable and lightweight compared to others. I just purchased a second collar for travel. Been using now for months and the velcro is strong as ever.

Comfortable and does the job

I have sleep apnea and was advised to get a cervical collar to help keep my airways open so chose this product and it has been exactly as advertised. Smooth and comfortable and it has held up well under several hand washings. Happy I got it.
