Can this hub be used to bridge smart thermostat 2 to a Bosch greenstar Kombi boiler 8000?

No- although the HC plus app does suggest that this will be possible eventually. We use the controller to set our radiator thermostats to best use the smart boiler but they still don't 'talk' to each other

If i just buy this controller, can I integrate it into my Homekit system and use my existing motion sensors and smoke alarms for the security system?

Why do i have to have home connect app for my laundry, easy control for thermostat but if i want trvs on apple homekit i need this? why not 1 solution

I think you may find that all of these can be controlled via the Bosch app. Bosch TRV’s are excellent.

Do the the radiator thermostats work directly with the easycontrol, or would we need to also get the smart home controller?

The Bosch smart TRVs wirelessly communicate and work directly with the Bosch EasyControl device which connected (by wire) to the boiler. There is no need for a smart home controller to set up controlled heating zones if you have the Bosch easycontrol device wired into your boiler. The whole lot is then controlled through the easy control app.
