In a word? For the price? Over the Moon!
Ya know how sometimes you don't know you NEED a new couch until you sit on one at Costco and immediately LOATHE your current couch? That happened to me 2 weeks ago, so I took the plunge and bought it, and I AM IN LOVE with it. I would go into much more detail, but this is not a review of that couch.Ya know how sometimes you're relaxing on a new couch that you just picked up from Costco and you finally notice the gigantic EYESORE that is your current, 12-year-old, wobbly and unstable IKEA coffee table and you decide that you've absolutely had enough of THAT little future pile of firewood? That happened to me last week, so I went lookin' on Amazon for a coffee table or something to fill the coffee table role, and that's where I met Sheffield Tufted. I know it's not a traditional coffee table, but it's exactly what I wanted. It is as beautiful in person as it is on Amazon. It also looks like it was expensive and it wasn't (relatively)! At the time of this review, it was $146.95 including tax. It's not about how expensive it looks. I just think it really classes up the joint. The cushion on top is as firm as I was hoping it to be. It's really nice and solid to kick your feet up on. It's tufted really nicely too, so it feels like none of the buttons are gonna come loose. I WILL update this review if something like that happens. I weigh 260 lbs. and I can sit on it without it flexing much (it does a tiny bit), BUT I should point out something odd (maybe I'm not up to speed in the Ottoman world, though). There is no wood or composite or any solid material under the cushion. It's, like, woven together like some kind of mini trampoline with something like strong elastic (I'm guessing) and that DOES make me not want to just plop down on it in the future. I'd guess if you weigh under 200 lbs. It could be plop city. You can clearly see the hinges while the lid is closed, too, if that is a major turn off for somebody.I LOVE that it's a storage ottoman! It doesn't really look like one, to me, which is totally thrilling cuz only I know that I'm storin' stuff in there! Okay, actually, everybody in the office knows I'm storing stuff in there...cuz that's where everybody's junk is now...but it's still a thrill!!As you'll see in the photos, there are some PROs and CONs regarding the storage area.PROs:1) You get JUST ABOUT the entire length and width of the ottoman for storage.Internal space is 44 1/2" wide (actually it's 42" but you'll read about that in a sec), 14 1/2" front to back and 8 3/4" tall. It's roomy!2) All the walls (front, back, and the lid) are lined with a black velvety type cloth. What's neat is that there is an extra inch to an inch and a half of pushback room. You can kinda fill it with a little more than it looks like you can, and the cloth will give that extra distance.3) The lid closes perfectly all the way around, and that feels like quality.CONs:1) The hinges DO intrude, a little bit, on how high you can stack things inside when the lid is closed. They take away at least 2 inches from the height you can stack without impeding them. Now, let me say, there is still 42 inches of room, width wise, between the hinges where they will not interfere.2) I thought I would get more storage height. It's about 8 3/4 inches from the bottom to the outer lip. Like I said with the extra give with the cloth, you could get more space than that, maybe 10 inches, but not all the way around.3) All the supporting wood panels are very thin. I don't think they are even 1/8" thick. They're possibly 1/16", maybe a hair thicker. I read where somebody asked on the forum if they could put their dumbbells and weights in there for storage. ABSOLUTELY not. No significant weight anyway. If I put my weight down on the floor, my foot would go right through the bottom.Moving on to the feet. The feet feel like real wood, they're a rich brown, and their subtle angle adds a touch O' class as well.Another little thing is there were a few loose strings hanging out from the manufacturing but they were easy enough to carefully cut off, and nobody is the wiser. You'll also see in one photo that on one side it looks like the ottoman has a little case of varicose veins. I probably should be more bothered by it, but I just don't seem to notice it unless I'm taking a picture of it. It's probably just an anomaly from the manufacturing, but I guess it's possible your's could have something similar.About the photos and the color in real life. All of the photos were taken in the AM with the Eastern Sun hitting the ottoman. The ottoman IS that color gray in the morning but not when it's out of the direct light. I put a GOLDEN DOGGY on top of the ottoman in the one photo I took when the ottoman was NOT in direct sunlight, and I believe that is accurate to what it looks like. There's also a couple of pics of my thumb? I'm trying to show the extra room inside the storage area where the cloth gives an inch or so. There are also pics of the hinges when the lid was closed, as closed as I could get it, where you can see how you've got to leave a couple inches for the lid to close all the way.All in all, if I would've paid $600 for this, I would be upset (taking everything into account). For under $150, I'm super pleased.I'm giving it 4 stars, though, because I think, even for this price, they could've done a little better.I'd buy it again, though. I'd buy it again.UPDATE 9/1:I'm adding a picture of how this ottoman can be used to occupy a 3-year-old for over 30 minutes with decorative rocks!!UPDATE 12/13:I am still in love with this thing. In almost 5 months I haven't' had one thing go bad with this bute. Hinges work perfectly still. No threads have come loose. Not a single tufted button has popped off. Ya know what, at this pace, I'm gonna give it 5 stars in another 6 months or so if it is STILL performing like a champ.UPDATE 12/31/2019:It's almost been 18 months and it's STILL amazing! I made that promise so now I'm raising my review to 5 stars. Great buy and definitely still recommend getting one if you like the style!Hope this was helpful!

Fantastic for the price. Looks great and holds up well, with a satisfactory storage capacity
Beautiful ottoman at a great price. Perfectly matches my headboard with a modern design that could compliment a wide variety of styles. Definitely an ample amount of storage within. My girlfriend and I use it for our home workout/Wii Fit games & equipment, with still a fair amount of room to spare. The fabric, the buttons/tufting, and cushioning have held up great. No signs of wear to speak of. Admittedly, we use it much more for storage and as an accent piece than for actual sitting. I imagine that if it is frequently trafficked, especially by a pet, it would accumulate more wear.My two biggest complaints (which are pretty insignificant) are that the top does seem to accumulate dust around the buttons very easily, but it's painless to vacuum. Also, the feet seem to become loose very easily just from moving the piece back and forth to clean around/under it. Again, just re-tightening the feet by screwing them back in is easy enough.Overall, I'm very satisfied! Especially compared to other ottomans available at a similar price.

Slight sag in the middle
We use it for a changing bench and sheets inside for storage. It is sturdy and looks good. The only thing I’ve noticed so far is it slightly sags in the middle when you sit on it. Over time it most likely will only sag more.

Great storage bench!
Perfect for the price! I needed something to take up some space in my bedroom bay window. This fits great and adds a little extra storage. I wouldn’t expect it to hold up well in a high traffic area considering the price, but it looks nice and feels solid enough. It is great for foot of the bed or an area where it is more for decor and storage. As for assembly, it takes 1 minute to twist in the legs, so easy! Exactly what I needed and I would purchase again.

Better than expected!
This is really pretty and looks great at the end of our bed. It was easy to put together. The storage is ok, and I was able to get a few blankets and pillows inside. I'm very happy with this purchase and the quality.

Amazing!
The media could not be loaded. Normally the storage benches are not comfy on the butt. This chair is amazing! Material is thick and lovely. All you gotta do is screw in the legs and BAAMMM! You have a quality storage bench :) I would totally love another one of this in my classroom

Not worth the price do not recommend
I was so excited to get this storage ottoman. When the box arrived one end was busted open and there was packing tape wrapped around it. Looking at the ottoman showing through it didn't look damaged so I said fine. but once I got it out I found a little tear on the left side of it. I also noticed the top of it was crooked on that side. Once I lifted the lid I seen why. Ugh! The hinge looks to have been moved from where it once was. Cringe! The box was huge as it came in one piece but surprisingly light and it was a B getting it up my stairs. Needless to say I'm upset because of the condition it came in for the price I paid for this ottoman. At the same time I don't have it in me to maneuver a huge ass box back down my stairs into my car and into UPS to return it. The upholstery material is nice but the wood seems like it's just a tad bit stronger than styrofoam or cardboard. Yeah it looks cute from a distance but when examined it's cheap and built poorly. I do NOT recommend. Paid a $130. Chalking this up as a loss.
