Timeless Manual Typewriter, Mint

Horrible!! My daughter opened it and started to type, the ink is fade and the keys came off!!!! Spent lots of money on this!! There shouldn't even be a star on this review!!

This manual typewriter is handsome and well-made. It has nice options and all of the physical pieces seem to be very durable and solid. The one huge issue for me was that it arrived out of adjustment. The Upper case and lower case letters were well and truly out of line with each other. They were about half a letter off, so any capital letters were almost touching the line above. I wrote to the company because I knew there must be some adjustment or setting to get things in the proper orientation, but they very politely told me that there was no method to adjust it.So I went on a research journey with youtube and other internet sources. I didn't find anything that was exact, but I did learn a lot about the best angle for the hammers to strike at. I then did some trial and error testing on my own machine and eventually found two screws that seemed like they only limited the upper case travel. I adjusted and fiddled with the screws for longer than I am proud of, but in the end I managed to get everything into the correct line.Overall this is a very fun and cool machine, but I don't know that most people want to risk having to reinvent the wheel with a brand new product, just to get it functioning reasonably.

Delivery: Amazon lists it shipped USPS and delivery is delayed. It arrived on time via UPS.Quality: Not well put together, parts misaligned.Performance: Poor, often skips spaces as noted in another review.Overall: For the price I didn’t expect a Mercedes, maybe a Chevrolet. But this is a Yugo.Customer Service: Non-existant. I called the phone number and got a nonworking message. Tried the chat feature and am still waiting for an answer.

The hammers were all messed up when I got it. I'll have to do a bunch of research in order to fix them. I really wish I didn't have to do that though. Especially not with a brand new machine.

It came pre-used with many parts broken or missing. Absolute trash. Even the spray on paint finish was cracked. We took a chance, despite the bad reviews. This one is legit garbage. Pass.

The best I can say is the color is pretty and it is solid steel. But the one I recieved typed with errors. By errors I mean it jumps forward in letters. Here is an example. T he cat e at th e ra t.If you are just buying it for looks and not real use than this is the one to get. It very pretty.
