Works well, definitely softer than a typical bar so it can be easy to accidentally smoosh it over the sides of the container, making it difficult to get the lid on and off. But absolutely worth it if you’re looking for an effective solution for sensitive skin!

I’ve tried a lot of different natural deodorants and there was always something I didn’t like. The residue and the lack of protection from smell always was an issue. I do not have any issues with either of those from this one. The scent is nice, but dissipates pretty quickly. I’m ok with that since I’m not looking for a perfume. You have to apply it delicately since tallow melts with heat. I apply a small amount every night before bed and it’s like magic armpits! I will be buying lots of this deodorant to stock up!! Amazing product! $15 is WELL worth this product!

I really wanted to like this product, but sadly, I do not recommend this deodorant. I am familiar with tallow deodorants and have been using different natural brands for years now. I decided to give this brand a try as it is more affordable than others I have used. Unfortunately, I think they need to work on their recipe more. It is entirely too greasy. It is extremely moist as it rolls onto your skin which #1 makes me feel sweaty and #2 soaks (oil stain) right into your shirt if you have one on/put one on right away. I would compare it to feeling like you're rubbing coconut oil into your armpits. I will say, the citrus scent is pleasant. However, I will not continue to use this and do not recommend.

Dr. Dave's Primal Essence Extra Strength Tallow Deodorant - Aluminum-Free - Baking Soda, Beeswax, Coconut Oil and Mango Butter - Vanilla and Sandalwood:- the Bad: 1. for me I am in the category of people (man) who this burned, itched, and irritated severely to the point of driving me to insane scratch and rub my under arms, thank God I did not try it below the belt. 2. The on application was really greasy, where it left grease (tallow/fat/(I guess beef) stain in my shirts.- the Good: 1. It worked, I did not sweat, did not stink, the smell of this particular scent was very mile and alluring. My wife loved the scent, but she hated what it did the shirts (stains).My conclusion: Point 1, I am going to end my quest for a clean deodorant that does all the things well, why, because these niche offerings are quite expensive, and after trying a few, the tally is a couple hundred bucks (Amazon, feel free to check my purchase history to keep me honest). Point 2, most just do not flat out work at all, the ones that do work, only do 1 to 2 thing in the "ok" category, 1 always being smell good, and that is about it for most. HOWEVER, this one does several things well, however, there is just that one thing it does HORRIBLY, and that is burns/rash/irritate the skin. ----- SO I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ONE - but 3 stars for the smell and it works, but doesn't work (for me)!

I’ve been trying TONs of tallow products recently and I REALLY love the products I’ve tried from this brand. Specifically the chapstick and deodorant. Most other “tallow” chapsticks I’ve tried are pretty much Burt’s Beeswax, but more expensive. This brand is super smooth and super moisturizing and by far the best chapstick I’ve ever used. The deodorant is the best tallow deodorant I’ve found. Most are too hard and basically giving you and Indian burn trying to get product on your body. This one is almost too soft and almost feeling like it’s wet, but seems to absorb. I’ve learned to have a lighter touch for application.One recommendation is the visual marketing needs attention. It appears very masculine and cheap looking. It’s a great product, but put some money into engaging the feminine eye.

I have searched long and far. This is the first time I've come across this brand. Definitely not thrilled with the idea of Beef Tallow in my pits, but it's supposedly one of the best ingredients you can have in a deodorant. The ingredients list is quite impressive.No ParabensNo AluminumNo Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)Parabens - Chemical preservatives used in many personal care products - You do NOT want this on your skin, anywhere.Aluminum - Probably self explanatory, but you do NOT want metals on your armpits/skin.Baking Soda - You might think this would be a good ingredient. It is NOT. This will throw your pH balance way off. Your skin in slightly Alkaline. Baking Soda is extremely Alkaline. This ingredient will cause you to have problems under your armpits, even if you don't have sensitive skin.Dr Dave's Primal Essence Deodorant is free of any and ALL unnatural and or harmful ingredients.I chose the Sweet Orange & Bergamot. I am very sensitive to smells. I don't like strong or overpowering scents. This deodorant smells of sweet oranges and an herb-like aroma. It has a fairly manly scent. I can't guarantee you will like the smell, because I don't know your tastes. What I can say, is that the scent of this deodorant is not overwhelming to the senses, nor is it annoying in my opinion. I only use a short swipe or two on each armpit.This stuff isn't cheap, so use it sparingly and it will last long enough to make it more than worth it. One application lasts me 24 hours, maybe longer depending on what your doing and the climate you're in.Will probably purchase this one again when I run out.

I really wanted to love this. It makes your skin so soft and the fact that it is made of tallow, I love that. But for odor control, it just didn't work for me. I gave it time, I know natural deodorants take time, your body has to adjust, it's not the first time I've used natural deodorants. But I started using it in the winter months, not during warm weather and it still did not work for me.
