In Sump Protein Skimmer for Saltwater Aquariums with O3 Intake, DC Pump for 80-100 Gallons Fish Tank

I have a 90 gallon tank with a small sump that needed replacing of a skimmer. Decided to give the IOAOI skimmer a try and I was not disappointed. Out of the box, it was very well packaged and the quality of the skimmer feels very sturdy and well made.It was fairly simple to install the skimmer. Only issue I had was finding out what is the recommended water level but I eventually found it and it was also marked on the side of the skimmer itself. It also came with an extra tubing for draining your waste.My conclusion.. I thought this was a great skimmer for the price. It was quiet, small footprint, and great price. I personally liked the fact that it uses a DC pump.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using this skimmer for a bit now and I’m honestly impressed. It’s way quieter than I expected – my tank is in the bedroom and I can still sleep like a baby. No annoying buzzing or humming at all, which is something I really care about.It also pulls out a ton of nasty stuff. The collection cup fills up with this gross, stinky gunk and you just know it’s doing its job. My water looks a lot cleaner, and even my fish seem more active.Setup was pretty straightforward. Took me a few minutes to get it adjusted, and it’s been running smoothly since then. I didn’t expect much at first, but this thing really delivers.If you’re looking for a quiet, solid skimmer that actually does what it’s supposed to, this one’s worth checking out.

It took a bit to break in but is working well now and producing dark skim. It is very compact and easy to adjust and the water level is clearly marked on the side. It is made of very sturdy acrylic and doesn't seem like it would break easily. The collection cup is small but it has a drain output to use a larger collection container. The only change I would suggest is the venturi does not fit the pump well as the pump has threads while the venturi is smooth so I had really jam it on there so it would not fall off when bumped. It's not a deal breaker but a non threaded pump would make more sense.

Worked for about 4 1/2 -5 months and then motor stopped.

This skimmer arrived packaged incredibly well in its box, in a nearly assembled state. It only took a minute or two and it was ready to go into the sump.The skimmer is nearly silent and easy to adjust with its knob which controls the gate that adjusts the water level in the skimmer. The airflow adjustment is built into the lid, and the skimmer cup includes a drain line with a valve for emptying if you don’t want/need to clean the cup yet.It’s great that the cup doesn’t need to thread off, it is simply a press fit with a o ring, every skimmer should be designed this way. A little bit of reef safe lubricant on the o ring made removing the cup without spilling the skimmate a breeze. I have spilled skimmate back into my tank countless times while trying to remove lids from other brands.The skimmer also includes an ozone port built into it. I do not currently use ozone, but it is a great option for those that do.Ultimately if your sump is limited on space then this skimmer is a great budget option. It has a small enough footprint to fit in almost any sump.

This little skimmer was packaged very well and was really easy to assemble. It broke in pretty quickly and was producing good dark skimmate after about 2 days. The dc pump produces perfect little bubbles and the air adjuster is easy to get set properly. It was fairly easy to dial in, and has stayed pretty consistent. But, the dial is very touchy and a little goes a long ways(most skimmers are though). The small footprint of this skimmer makes it a great option for smaller sump chambers or shorter cabinets. My only 2 issues are that the feet on the bottom are a little narrow. It won't tip over easily, but it does wobble a touch when placed on an egg crate stand, and that the collection cup is a little small so it needs emptying more frequently(like every couple days, but that may be a plus if you are pressed for space). They did add a drain spout to the cup though so emptying it out is really easy. All in all, if you are looking for a budget skimmer this one fits the bill quite nicely.

I bought this skimmer to give it a shot. So far I haven't been disappointed. It looks well made and is a nice compact size that doesn't take up too much space in the sump. It took a little while to break in but they all do. My tank is still very new and I'm mainly using it for aeration. I'll provide another update once I have it running a little longer.
